About me:
My name is João Dias and I was born in 2000 in Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto. My journey started back in 2006, when I first entered elementary school, as a child engineer and technology always kept myself hooked. While I was still ten it was already clear for me that I was going to pursue something related with engineer.
Fast-forward to the present, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto in September 2021, and have since completed my master's degree in Systems and Automation at the same institution, finalizing my studies in December 2023.
Alongside my academic duties I have some hobbies. One of them is practicing sports, from 10-18 years old I practiced canoeing, since then I only do gym. Another one is Home Automation, I recently started a project for automating my home and it has worked out quite well. Aside from those two I share great interest for sports, mainly Formula 1 and football.

Master Thesis: Enhancing Indoor Localisation: a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Beacon Placement approach

Developed and validated an algorithm for optimal Bluetooth beacon placement in indoor locations, enhancing positioning accuracy and efficiency across various sectors.
Vigilance System

Thesis Project: Front end Inventory System for DEE Equipment

Inventory system developed for internal components organization only accessed by registered staff members from DEE department.
Smart Greenhouse
Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto, Oct. 2020 – Jan. 2021
Smart Greenhouse controlled by a microcontroller using several sensors, such as LDR, temperature and moist as well as the respective actuators led, fan, heat resistor and water pump.
